I remember reading that you chose the FTDI interface so adding a midi board would be easy. Do you have any information regarding this. I would be willing to build me a midi interface of some kind, if I had some schematics or something to start from... having to use the usb of the computer is not always the most convenient solution...

Midi boards & design are on the way. If you're in a rush and feeling hackerly:
It's a standard Midi signal in through the FTDI RX port, but you'll of course need an external power supply as well, as the YM-MINI is normally FTDI powered. The MIDI signal will have to be isolated as-per the MIDI spec using something like the CNY-17 opto-isolator or another.
As the USB_FTDI can't handle the MIDI data rate, a change to the firmware has been made as of August 1st. If yours is older than that, a newly programmed Atmel will be needed (and available when the board is available.), or you can send the original chip for a re-burn (no additional charge).
As much as I'd like to release it now... nothing gets released untested!

Hi! Thanks for the reply... haven't checked the forums in a while, had some really busy times, and still have, so, while your words make me want to hack a bit, I think I'll wait. Initially I had problems with MidiYOKE, but that works fine now.
I can perfectly understand that time is little for you as well, so no hurry.
Once you'll be ready for a release, I'll certainly get one.Posted 10 months ago #
