This is a catalog of the TimeFrames Exhibition as shown in Gallery 111 on the campus of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York during February, 2007. The exhibition consists of a range of 15 to 20 glass slides created in the style of harshly aged Victorian era "Magic Lantern" slides.
Slides are displayed and sold with individually handmade sconces, containing a switchable DC lighting circuit, white power supply and easily replaceable 7 watt DC bulbs. Each slide is 3-1/4"x4" with sconces measuring 1-1/2"x5" and holding the slide 2-1/2" from the wall. Slides are each unique, with no other versions of distinct images created.
The images below were hung at 22" spacing covering 41' of total wall space. The show can be effectively displayed with the TimeScapes series, DanceScapes series, BreathPrints, or the new Digital Tintypes series for a larger cohesive exhibition. A related artist's lecture associating the concepts of time, process, and dead technologies can be offered as supplement to the exhibition.
